Courmayeur is a very famous Italian resort and is closer to Mont Blanc on the other side from from Chamonix. People from all over the world travel here for its spectacular panoramic views of the Mont Blanc massif. The landscape is really unique and thanks to its connection with Chamonix the resort is one of the main attractions of the whole Alps.
Courmayeur - Ski
Courmayeur has 100km ski runs which cater mainly to intermediates. Enthusiastic freeriders can’t wait to experience the Vallee Blanche Glacier, but also skiers who prefer safe skiing conditions will be delighted with what is one of the greatest places in the Italian Alps. Even for cross-country skiers the trails are sufficient and well prepared. For lunch take a break in one of the pretty huts and enjoy a delicious Italian meal.
Courmayeur - Town
Courmayeur is a truly magnificent resort where you can enjoy skiing aswell as off- piste activities. The traditional village itself is enjoyable to walk around and the centre is pedestrianised. Soak up the Italian atmosphere with its cobbled streets and fashionable shops.
Activities
Take the opportunity to discover the spectacular Mont Blanc range on a guided tour or take a helicopter flight for spectacular views over the fascinating landscape. Adventure lovers should seize the chance to try heli-skiing, ice climbing, hanggliding or paragliding. Less adventurous, but also great fun are activities like skating, bowling and curling. After an exhausting day on the pistes there is a wide choice of restaurants, cafés and bars to relax in.
Children
Children are always welcome in Courmayeur. There are two child care centres with English-speaking staff, and the ski school offers lessons for children up to 12 years.
